Way too many ATC's

I signed up for so many ATC swaps in the past few weeks, including the one I host monthly... I'm just up to my eyebrows in ATC's right now!!

The first ATC features a little chickie, balloon and sentiment from Gina K Designs. I used K&Company paper and lots of sponging with golden yellow ink.

The second ATC group was made with Cosmo Cricket "Cogsmo" paper and a really cute stamp from The Cat's Pajamas. I paper pieced the rocket, added stickle stars to the black paper and Pearl Ex'd the moon with white pearl.

The third group features another Gina K stamp set, but instead of a flat ATC I made a little mini card. The owl was stamped on light yellow paper and colored with copics. The inside of the card says "Owl Always be here for you". Isn't that sweet?

The last thing I want to mention is that my friend Arin Burdo made the cover of Stamp It with her really cute Bella card shown in the middle. Her name of SCS is Arinstamps - so if you come across her give her a big CONGRATULATIONS!!

The winner is....

"Kat Gomez.. said... Hola chica ... this is Bella Arte!! what a beauty love all the flowers and bling!! tfs.. tu amiga kat.. May 08, 2008 12:07 AM"

Congratulations!! Please send me your address to blog@clothingcorner.com and I'll send your card candy out asap!!

I gotta tell a funny story about the card I posted here... I tied a little puppy milkbone to the front of it and left it on my livingroom coffee table (where all my cards sit until I feel like putting them away). Well I got home from work the other day and the bone was gone and my older dog was sitting there looking pretty sheepish. I did find the tiny ribbon that was tied in a bow still intact on the floor next to it though! She was very neat about taking that bone off!

Sending Love and Blog Candy too!

For the first card I wanted a whimsical, sparkly card to go with this pretty angel image from American Art Stamp. The main image was colored with Copics. The angel wings were painted with Pearl-Ex and future floor wax.

The flourish at the bottom is from a package of grunge board. I inked it with Aqua Mist Palette ink. Then colored it with glue pen then sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I added a half a scalloped oval punch with a sentiment at the bottom and dots of stickles along the edges. I have a hard time letting such a wide open space stay uncluttered!!

I made the sheet of card candy for the May Gallery on Embellish It and I'm going to give it away as blog candy this week! It's a 4.25 x 5.5 sheet of Basic Grey Two Scoops paper that is covered with popped up flowers made with the same paper and stamps from Fancy Pants Pollen Dust set. I also added lots of glitter, rhinestones, buttons and dimensionals to make these fun embellishments to just put on a card or project. The flowers each have a dimensional on the back so you just need to lift them off the paper and they are ready to use.

To enter the giveaway just leave a comment on this post - and don't forget to leave your email or blog address so I can get ahold of you if you win! I'll pick a random will over the weekend.

Thanks for looking!

Lots of Dogs!

I made this card with one of the 2 new dog stamps being released on Wednesday 5/7/08 by My Favorite Things. It took alot of work for a one layer card... lots of cutting and masking, but really worth the effort.

I started by stamping the smallest dogs on the white sheet and also on a post it note, which I cut out with a part of the sticky strip under the image - this makes it easier to stick on to the paper without leaving a residue. After the line of small dogs was covered with the cut out mask I stamped the medium sized dogs and repeated the procedure. Once the medium and small dogs were masked then I stamped the largest dogs. I removed all the masks and voila' a perfect line of doggies!

I used 17 different shades of brown, tan & yellow Copics to color in the dogs (E29, YR02, E77, E37, 0, S-7. YG91, Y28,YR20, E57, E21, W-1, Y00, E95, E43, W-5 & W-3). I really love how you can go over the same area again and again with copics to achieve the color and shade you're looking for. Some of these doggies were colored 3 to 4 times until I was happy with the result.

I wanted to keep the rest of the card simple so the dogs really stood out, so I trimmed down the main image and matted it on a base of kraft cardstock. I added just a little bit of faux stitching for contrast. The "collar" was made of satin ribbon, a hodgepodge hardware buckle jump ring to hold the dog bone tag in place.

Let me know what you think of these little doggies... personally I'm in love with tem!

Bon Voyage Teaser

I made such an effort today to get some stamping done since I've been a bit behind on all my projects.... well I finally caught up!! AND I had time to do this sketch challenge card for the weekly challenge hosted by Cindy Haffner.

This card is made with a brand new stamp set coming out on Wednesday, May 7th called "Going Places" There are some really cute images in this one! For this card I used the cityscape scene as the main image. I punched a circle with my 3/4" punch and used it as a mask to sponge the sky. Then the clear circle was colored in with different shades of Copic markers. The buildings were also colored with Copics and Spica glitter pens.

I used the new twill tape from Papertreyink.com for the ribbon at the bottom. It was stamped with a sentiment from the new set with Palette ink. The base of the card is also the pretty yellow from their last release.

Thanks for looking! Keep an eye out for more teasers this week and the big party on Wednesday night!

Mod Baby Card

What a fun challenge was today on SCS!! I really enjoy making circle cards with 4" round coasters as the base. Plus it gives me the opportunity to use my circle scissors from EK Success - which is an easy way to cut circles in various sizes perfectly every time. For this project I cut two 4" circles for the top of the card - one plain patterned dp was adhered to the coaster front, then the second circle was scored 1/2" from one side (with my scor-pal), then glued down to the coast on only that 1/2" piece. Once the glue dries I attached 3 brads to form the card flap.

I used paper from Cosmo Cricket "Cogsmo" paper line. The sentiment and arrow are also from this paper pad. I was thinking of using this as a funky baby card for my Brother & SIL's new baby.... since I'm an Aunt now I'm always popping over there with a little something!

I made the scalloped edge with a small circle punch. Each circle was adhered to the back of the black paper, then faux stitched and a drop of stickles was added to the center. I also used the platinum stickles to outline the arrow. I also made this card for The Cat's Pajamas TCP Tuesday challenge - this time it was for a blue card - see Toni's Blog HERE.

Let me know what you think!

Tall Cards

I used to love making odd shaped cards, and somehow in the past few months I've gotten in the habit of making the "normal" size A2 card and not really branching out. Yesterday's sketch challenge on SCS was the perfect opportunity to make somehting a little different.

The first card was made with my new paper from Cosmo Cricket called Cogsmo - as soon as I saw the sneak peek last before the CHA show I knew I wanted it, and was lucky enough to find it at Jacksonbelle Embellishments (Lindsey is THE BEST!). Since it has such a funky mod print I thought it'd be perfect to match up with one of the new sets from The Cats Pajamas called "It's a Mod, Mod World". I paper pieced the rocket ship together, then added some rhinestone brads the Kim @ MFT sent me from Petaloo.

I altered the scoring a little on this card because I wanted the rocket ship to POP up off the card, so I used a 8" x 9" piece of paper and scored it at 4.25", 7.5" & 8.5" (using my Scor-pal of course) and folded the card in half @ the first score line, the 2 more times get get the nice popped up top piece. The folds are held together with a band that slip up from the bottom which was decorated with patterned paper, faux stitching and another rhinestone brad. This card is also part of the TCP Tuesday color challenge (TCPTUES05) which features a Cat's Pajama stamp and this week the color blue.... I think blue is the dominant color on this card (okay I may be pushing it a little)! You can see the challenge details on Toni's blog HERE.

The last card was made with paper from K&Companies Wild Saffron line. I stamped and cut out 3 flowers from the Doodle This stamp set, then added Basic Grey buttons to the centers. The sentiment is from American Art Stamp - I didn't pay attention to the size when I ordered it, but this is a large stamp! I love that it can definately stand on it's own on a card without needing lots of other embellishments - plus the font is really cool! The ribbon is from Papertrey ink - I'm so addicted to their monthly releases now and stalk Nichole's blog to see what the new paper & ribbon colors will be!

Which one is your favorite?
